Australian Sailing launches SailPASS

SailPASS

If you thought sailing was expensive and inaccessible… think again!

SailPASS is a flexible and affordable day pass that allows you to discover sailing. It gives you the opportunity to try sailing a number of times, plus it allows you to get the feel for the Hervey Bay Sailing Club before doing a course or becoming a club member.

It is a fantastic way to have a great day out and learn new skills with your friends, family or work colleagues, while enjoying the lifestyle and amazing locations provided by a sailing club near you.

Hervey Bay Sailing Club (HBSC) has implemented SailPASS to replace it's current HBSC Temporary Membership system.

SailPASS gives you HBSC Temporary Membership. After signing up, you receive an Australian Sailing Number (SIN - Previously Silver Card), which allows you to participate in club events such as the Bay to Bay Trailable Yacht Race.

This exciting new initiative also delivers plenty of benefits to Australian Sailing clubs by:

  • Offering quick, easy and affordable access to sailing
  • Reducing administration burden on volunteers and clubs allowing people to sign up easily online
  • Improving safety so clubs know who is out on the water at all times
  • Introducing new people to sailing and with the aim of getting them to become club members

SailPASS has been very successful across early adopting clubs who have experienced great membership growth as a result.

SailPASS users of these clubs have particularly loved the ability to sign up via their computer and mobile phones.
