About the Bay to Bay Yacht Race
The Hervey Bay Boat Club Bay to Bay Trailable Yacht Race will be held on Saturday, 2 May and Sunday, 3 May 2026.
This exciting two-day race covers approximately 84 kilometres through the stunning waters of the Tin Can Bay Inlet, Great Sandy Strait and Hervey Bay.
As Queensland’s largest trailable yacht race and one of the top three trailable yacht races in Australia, the Bay to Bay attracts sailors from across the country for a weekend of competitive sailing in one of Australia’s most beautiful coastal regions.
The race starts in Tin Can Bay and finishes in Hervey Bay, with an overnight stop at Garry’s Anchorage, nestled between K’gari and Stewart Island.
Open to eligible monohull and multihull trailable yachts, this Category 5 event places a strong focus on safety, preparation and self-sufficiency, as competitors travel through remote areas with limited rescue availability during daylight hours.
Be Part of the Weekend
The Hervey Bay Boat Club is proud to support this iconic event once again, helping showcase both the talent of the sailing community and the natural beauty of the Fraser Coast.
Whether you are a sailing enthusiast, a local supporter, or simply looking for a memorable day out on the water, the MV Amaroo spectator cruise is a great way to experience the excitement of the Bay to Bay.
After the race, guests are also invited to enjoy the hospitality of the Hervey Bay Boat Club and meet some of the crews at the awards presentation.
